As ANC Commissioner, I am dedicated to serving our community by ensuring that issues that impact our quality of life (crime and safety, nuisance and abandoned properties, neighborhood cleanliness, traffic calming and neighborhood driven development) are swiftly and sensibly attended to by the relevant agencies of our government.
Throughout my career, I have developed a unique understanding of government and regulatory processes, as well as established key relationships with elected and appointed officials at all levels.
Through my company, RightSource LLC, I have assisted small businesses and non-profits in the District with the goal of improving their service to our residents. Most recently, I have worked with a public-private partnership between a multi-specialty physician practice and the Department of Health to serve the comprehensive health care needs of our most vulnerable residents. RightSource has also worked with area schools, non-profits serving our communities and families, and fostered partnerships for small and minority businesses.
I have had the honor to serve as Chief of Staff to D.C. Mayor Anthony A. Williams, and I am proud of the work that we did together to bring about the renaissance that we are currently enjoying in our city. Whether ensuring that city services were responsive to our residents by instituting the City-Wide Call Center, initiating efforts to reduce crime and vacant properties, and overseeing the clean city project that coordinated street cleaning, trash pick-up, road and alleyway improvements, our efforts were directed at changing and maintaining the quality of life for those who call the District home.
Prior to my service with the District Government, I served as Director of Legislative and Public Affairs for the Florida League of Cities, and held numerous senior level positions within the State of Florida government, including in Business and Professional Regulation, Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles, Agriculture and Education.
I am a graduate of The Florida State University, holding a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Communication. My wife, Karen, along with our two sons (Andrew and Maxwell) are active participants within the St. Matthews Catholic Church community, and I currently serve as Vice Chair of the Board of Directors for Catholic Charities of the Archdiocese of Washington.
